Nancy Hulshizer, of York, Pennsylvania, was born in Scranton, PA. She and her husband have been married for 47 years. After raising their three daughters Nancy, who was involved in crafts for many years, decided to start painting. Without any formal training she began with a familiar subject, Williamsburg, VA. She has been visiting the historic city for over 40 years.
Her ability to capture the beauty of the historic city was recognized quickly as seven of her original acrylic paintings were purchased and sold in various shops. In recent years Nancy has turned to watercolor to capture the beauty and charm of Williamsburg, Va. Limited edition prints have now been reproduced and are available at very reasonable prices in the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor's Center (Booksellers Shop) and on this site.
The original watercolor painting of the St. George Tucker House hangs in the historic home.
Nancy was also encouraged to paint scenes of Penn State University in State College, PA. She has completed two scenes which have been reproduced as Limited Edition prints. "The Old Main" and "The Corner" limited edition prints are now available.
Recently Nancy painted two beautiful scenes from Augusta National Golf Course. Only 50 Limited Edition prints are being produced. These are "giclee" prints, beautifully reproduced on heavy art paper and look very much like an original.
Lancaster County, PA and surrounding counties have also been a source of subjects for Nancy's paintings. Several beautifully framed originals are for sale. Click on "Original Paintings" for descriptions and prices.
